Connect With Us

Connect With Us (CWU) is a new initiative that aims to break down isolation and stigma, connect men to networks of support, and expand delivery of HIV prevention, care, and treatment. The project reaches black, gay and bisexual men, and men who have sex with men (MSM) ages 18-40 residing in the Jackson, MS metropolitan statistical area. During the first three months of the project, CWU ambassadors are enrolled in a two-day training on the following topics:

  • HIV 101
  • Safer Sexual Practices
  • PrEP Adherence and Awareness
  • Health Literacy
  • Effective Communication

At the conclusion of the project, CWU will hold three Straight Up Socials with at least 10 black gay men per session, as well as interactive forums facilitated by experts representing HIV care, legal, and mental health services. Participants will reconvene for an annual block party at the end of the program.

This initiative is funded by Viiv Accelerate!
