REACH 2.0 Capacity Building Assistance

Teen Pregnancy Prevention

The goal of REACH 2.0 CBA is to reduce the rates of teen pregnancy and other existing health disparities among youth ages 11-18 in the Central Southwest Mississippi Region by building the capacity of youth-serving organizations to replicate evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs to scale. The project consists of formal partnerships with three youth-serving organizations, assessing the capacity and readiness of the organizations to replicate, evaluate, and sustain an evidence-based program. By the end of the project period, the goal is for subgrantees to sustain their capacity to continue evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs in the Central SW MS Region.
This project is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’s Office of Adolescent Health’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program.

Packard/Future Ready Project

The goal of the Packard Project, also known as Future Ready, is to reduce the stigma surrounding adolescent sexual health, homophobia, and HIV/STDs within the Jackson Public School District. In addition, to increase the number of adolescents aged 13-18 in the Jackson Public School District who access and utilize culturally appropriate reproductive healthcare services (i.e. family planning, HIV/STD screenings). This program develops training materials and implements training exercises for school-based health educators, parents, and teenagers. By the end of the project, the goal is to increase the knowledge of adolescent health, HIV/STD risk, and access to other support services.
